The event is put on by an informal group of artists and art lovers who seek to bring a fine arts venue to the people of Cocle in order to develop a greater appreciate and learn more about fine art. The group also wants to provide a way for professional artists to become known and to sell their work. The Arte en el Parque group awards scholarships to talented and deserving students to art schools Penonomé and Aguaducle. This year 4 scholarships were granted.

To support the cause, professional artist Ahmed Hassan donated his painting ‘La Espera’, oil on canvas for raffle. The prize was won by Maria Cristina De la Guardia, who bought 35 tickets to support the event.
