Stay Tuned, Coronado - The First 60 Days

The First 60 Days… It might appear that cars just come and cars just go through the entrance gate in Coronado.  It would seem also that it would be a simple job to supervise the Gate. For Mayra Davidson, Administradora de Asociacion de Coronado, the Gate is just one part of the job.   During her first 60 days in the position, she dealt with numerous holidays which involved serious partying, the breaking of all records for people coming into Coronado, and a huge increase in annual memberships. The support of the Coronado residents is greatly appreciated and makes it possible to keep Coronado as the best beach town on the West Coast.

In addition to membership cards, 2000 worker and guest permits have been issued through Sra. Davidson’s office which means EVERY guest has to have either a daily pass or a permanent visitor’s pass for those people who come frequently through the gates

All workers are checked for passes now and with three new operatives in addition to the regular Gate staff, they are regular checks at beach areas, La Cosita and known or reported party areas.

It isn’t all about the Gate, however.  Sra. Mayra has helped reduce response time for trouble calls.  For example, recently two 90 year old women called in a report of a snake in their house.  The problem reptile was removed in a response time of 5 minutes.

In another situation, the Asociacion dispatched help to a couple who had been locked in their gated yard by robbers who took their keys, as well as other property.

As Administradora, Sra. Mayra assists with the Personeria and has helped 2 robbery victims report the crimes because translation is required. For a robbery to be investigated a statement of the robbery must be reported to the Personeria or no action will be taken.

The Asociacion was able to help in the efforts for a drowning victim in early November.  The family has recognized the Asociacion and thanked it publicly.

Sra. Mayra asks that you register all you guests with the Gate (240-4776) so that they do not have to keep your guests waiting while they call you for confirmation. Email may also be used:  asociacioncoronado@hotmail.com

Register all your workers and make certain that they have worker cards when they come through the gate.  Do not assume that workers with a company have the proper paperwork.

You may not know about all the laws currently being enforced, such as “no ATV’s on the roads after 6 pm”, “no workers walking on the streets after 9 pm”, and “no loud parties/gatherings after midnight.”

From administrator to dog catcher, to listener, to car mechanic (cars DO have problems at the gate from time to time), the Administradora sees that all problems are attended to in a timely manner.  (No, someone else fixes the cars!)

Remember, to reach Sra. Mayra, call 240-4776 or email at asociacioncoronado@hotmail.com but please do not call to ask her what time your favorite restaurant opens.  Keep the lines clear for those snake calls!

STAY TUNED, CORONADO, there is much more to come!
