Coronado Christmas Parade 2008
On Saturday, December 6th, the Coronado Hotel started their Christmas festivities with a Christmas Parade. Both Las Lajas and Roberto Eisenmann Elementary schools provided the entertainment. The parade started on Acuanauta street, continued on to Punta Prieta Ave to finish at the Coronado Hotel reception area. These two school bands played traditional Christmas melodies and their marching band followed suit. The Virgin Mary was carried on the back of a mule and Joseph walked by her side. Mrs. Claus waived to the crowd from her cart, which was pulled by live oxen. Saint Nick, along with clowns and the Coronado Frog, waited for them all at the Coronado Hotel gate.
When everyone arrived at the reception desk, they participated in the tree lighting ceremony while listening to Christmas carols performed by the Foundation San Felipe choir. The crowd shared in the activities and celebrated with delicious cookies as well as both rum and fruit punches. To crown the event, some students of Roberto Eisenmann Elementary school put on a play depicting the nativity scene.
ALL in all the parade was another successful event for Coronado residents children!
