newsnviews2.jpg(argusleader.com) VERMILLION - The Rawlins Trio is headed to Panama.

The University of South Dakota-based trio is made up of USD faculty members: violinist John Thomson, cellist Marie-Elaine Gagnon and pianist Susan Keith Gray. They play a Thanksgiving concert Nov. 27 and will lead master classes for the Fundación Sinfon’a Concertante de Panam1/3 Outreach Program.

The trio performs regularly throughout the U.S. and abroad, including a recent concert on the USD campus as well as a performance at the First Congregational Church in Sioux Falls.

Named in honor of Marjorie and her husband, the late Robert Rawlins, significant supporters of USD and principal benefactors for the trio's inception, the Rawlins Piano Trio was formed in 1987.
