  • Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection review friv game

The Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy remaster collection is coming to PS5 very soon, and later on PC. We have already got acquainted with the collection, and are ready to share our impressions with you in the review.

The games online games from the studio Friv2Online Games Studio site in the Uncharted series are the pride of PlayStation users and the envy of players who do not own a Sony console. Naughty Dog has crafted a line of action-adventure titles with their usual craftsmanship , with compelling characters, unforgettable scenes, and beautiful visuals.

Since 2007 , when the first part of the franchise was released, the authors have constantly improved it, bringing it to a climax in 2016 with the release of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, which put a graceful end to the adventures of Nathan Drake. And a year later, the release of the spin-off Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, focused on the adventures of other heroes - so far this is the last part of the series.

We don't know if Naughty Dog is developing a new Uncharted, but now we can relive familiar events in the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection remastered collection , which includes the aforementioned A Thief's End and The Lost Legacy, improved for PlayStation 5 and PC. So here's what to expect from the Legacy of Thieves collection.

First of all, Uncharted is an adventure with a capital letter. Each game in the series is like a good movie in which you become not just a spectator, but a participant. In an effort to maintain a cinematic presentation, developers often sacrifice typical player retention techniques. Here, for example, long cut-scenes and episodes in which there are no gunfights are in the order of things. It's perfectly normal to spend half an hour at the auction without ever getting into a fight - and at the same time, the game constantly keeps the interest in what is happening, due to the frequent change of scenery and well-written dialogue.

And when it comes to a fight, the tension rises at times. There are scenes in Uncharted that you retell with fire in your eyes to your friends - what is the famous chase through Kingsbay with the destruction of part of the city in A Thief's End, or the train episode in The Lost Legacy!

Ordinary skirmishes also do not let you relax. AI is smart, so it’s not possible to sit behind shelters, shooting opponents: they will go around from the flanks, smoke grenades and send them to the checkpoint. The player must actively move and behave aggressively: instead of exchanging fire with the enemy, it is often more effective to get close to him and knock him out with a fist. And the list of opponents can be reduced even before the start of the battle, using stealth and stealth elimination.

Hand-to-hand combat is another highlight of Uncharted. While it doesn't offer unique solutions, each encounter feels different thanks to the many contextual animations. There is a big difference between an attack in open space and next to a wall or a box: in the first case, Drake will beat the enemy with his fists, and in the second, he will happily slam him on a nearby object.

In addition to combat, Uncharted games are famous for their puzzles : in the ancient temples and hideouts of pirates , many mysteries lurk, the solution of which will require quick wits and resourcefulness. But first you need to get to them, and this is where parkour and acrobatics come into play. Again, due to the huge number of different animations, climbing steep cliffs and jumping on rooftops does not get boring.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy were impressive at release, and they are impressive now. Especially as part of the Legacy of Thieves Collection, where the friv games have been improved for the next generation console. The changes, however, are minor: you should not expect a significant increase in terms of graphics - the developers slightly tweaked the textures and increased the resolution. This isn't a problem, as the original games look great even now, considering it's only been a short time since they were released.

But now you can play Uncharted on PS5 at 60 and even 120 frames per second, which was very lacking on the PlayStation 4, where the game ran at 30 fps.

Three graphics modes are available in the remastered version: 4K and 30 fps, 1440p and 60 fps, and 1080p and 120 fps. In my opinion, it's worth playing in the second mode: the difference between 4K and 1440p on a 4K TV is noticeable only upon close examination, and a twofold increase in frame rate significantly improves the gaming experience. In turn, 120 frames per second is too much for a single game , and multiplayer , for which a high frame rate would be justified, is not in the collection. In addition, in this mode, the image resolution drops significantly.

The developers have seriously upgraded the sound in Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. Playing with headphones , you almost physically feel the rumble of explosions and the crackle of automatic bursts, you discover many new impressions: here the wind is rustling, there a frightened bird has taken off. The sound stage has become richer and more voluminous, and the choice of different voice acting languages will make the characters speak even in Spanish, even in Polish.

The remaster also pleases with instant downloads of saves. The original games took about a minute to load from the HDD of the PS4 console! In the collection, you have to wait no more than five seconds - amazing progress.

And from the promised tactile feedback, I wanted more. If in Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut the DualSense features were fully utilized, then in Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection the vibrations of the controller are not surprising, and only the resistance of the triggers during shots reminds that a nextgen console gamepad is used.

The new version of Uncharted retains the legacy of the original friv game. So, if you have previously played on PS4, you will be able to transfer your saves to the remaster, provided that they have been uploaded to the PS Plus cloud storage. Thus, you can continue the passage of the game if it was interrupted, or replay open episodes.

Owners of the PS4 version are also not required to buy the remaster at full price: an upgrade to the next-gen version costs about 700 rubles for those who have purchased Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy or Digital Bundle in their library. And those who buy the remaster or upgrade their game to the Legacy of Thieves Collection before February 4th will also receive a gift voucher code for one ticket to see Uncharted: Off the Cards at select theaters.

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection lets you revisit the adventures of your favorite heroes with enhanced visuals and increased frame rates. Of course, I would like to see more games in the series in the collection, however, to be honest, the Uncharted trilogy (Drake's Fortune, Among Thieves and Drake's Deception) needs not a cosmetic facelift, but a full-fledged remake. Especially the first part of it, which is pretty badly aged.

Both A Thief's End and The Lost Legacy, included in the remaster collection, have a separate story, and experience in previous games in the series is not required to understand it. Therefore, you can not worry that you will miss important events without playing the previous parts. And I'm even a little jealous of those who will launch the Legacy of Thieves Collection for the first time on their PS5 or, in the future , on PC - these are exactly the games for which you want to erase your memory in order to play them again.
