Premiere Bohemian Lifestyle Store in Panama
Nido began as six campesina tailors from a remote farming project in Panama met by founder Rebecca Kore Rodriguez. Rebecca’s interest in communal living led her to this group of women from a cooperative organic farm project in the mountains of Panama. For extra cash the women sold handmade sewn goods on the side. The craftsmanship was excellent, yet Rebecca sensed that better materials and more fashion ready colors and shapes would make a world of difference towards selling their wares.
The women needed help beating poverty and Rebecca has a passion for contributing creatively to something greater than herself. They pooled their talents and together hatched Cooperativa El Nido (CEN) in 2009.
