Panama Facts

Raspadura, found throughout Panama, is unrefined whole cane sugar. It is basically a solid piece of sucrose and fructose obtained from the boiling and evaporation of sugarcane juice. A ‘Trapiche’ or a sugar mill is used to extract the sugary sap from the cane which is then boiled for hours and hours to produce raspadura.
