Panama Facts

Bastimento Island is a nesting spot for 4 threatened turtle species. It also has the only fresh water lagoon on an island area in Panama, which serves as a refuge for many fresh water turtles. The most important nesting site for sea turtles is Isla de CaƱas, where every year about 30,000 turtles return to its beaches to lay their eggs between May and September.

Banks in Coronado 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
My husband and I have recently purchased a condo in Coronado. We currently live in Canada. We have so many questions. Advice on banking in Coronada and which bank is recommended as we speak next to no spanish..We also wonder if we need to license a side by side recreation vehicle in coronado. Thanks in advance and am sure we will be posting more and more questions as we get closer to our new adventure.

there are many banks in Coronado, check out the link

www.coronadobusiness.com/home/money.html

Banco Nacional is the Panamanian bank, nice people but no one speaks English, and no internet access.

I deal with Global, they speak some English, I have had a good relationship. They are in the Rey shopping complex.

Multibank is new in town, they have been promoting well their products, the Mgr speaks English and it is in the Village complex (on the highway). Mario A Quezada Garcia-Maritano, General Mgr, tel: 507 240-205 e: mquezada@multibank.com.pa

They gave CASA (Coronado Area Social Association) 60 fabric bags for the Xmas basket last December.

Hope this helps!

Why not come to the Coronado Area Social Association meeting on Wednesday, February 8th at 10am. It is held in the back room behind the El Chef's restaurant, on the main road in Coronado. This would be an excellent opportunity to meet other Expat's and get answers to your questions. Membership fee is very reasonable.

I would contact your attorney here in Panama to see what documents you must have to even apply for any kind of bank account and then bring your documents with you when you come to open a bank account. There are quite a few documents you will need and your attorney can certainly put you in the right direction.

NO you do not need to license your ATV if you stay behind the gates. I also see many people driving and riding outside the gates to the supermarkets on them and they are not registered.
