kisadeeThis flycatchwe is a resident of most of Panama and is recognized by its bright yellow breast. Although one of the larger flycatchers (23 cm - 10 in) it is frequently confused with the  more abundant Social flycatcher (16 cm - 6 in). The Kiskadee not only differs in size but has a deep rust back and wings whereas the Social has dark green colouring. Both tend to look black from a distance. Both have a pronounced black and white striped head with slightly differing crown colouring. The Great Kiskadee is predatory and eats indects. Mice and small toads and also occasionally will dive for small fish.
