Coronado Bible Church is an English-speaking non-denominational church located in Coronado (we also offer instantaneous Spanish translation for our Spanish speaking members and visitors). Our mission statement is:

To be a light in the community.

To spread the good news of Jesus to everyone.

To be a helping hand to our neighbors whoever they might be.

One of the ways we are reaching out is by holding New Mom’s Visits to area hospitals. We held our first New Mom’s Visit on Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at La Chorrera Hospital. We visited with 15 new, needy mothers. We delivered hand-made drawstring bags containing personal care items for the mothers and their babies. La Chorrera delivers between 30-40 new babies a DAY! The hospital helped us identify the neediest mothers. Many of these mothers come from outlying areas and have nothing. We saw two new mothers who had nothing to put on their babies – not even a diaper! One of those mothers had a Down’s syndrome baby.

We plan to visit La Chorrera and Penonome Hospitals monthly to continue this mission (San Carlos does not have a maternity unit—all are sent to one of these two hospitals). However, the success of this mission depends upon donations! If anyone in the local community (or coming down to visit) would like to donate, we are looking for the following items:

Baby clothes (have a grandbaby or friend in the states that has outgrown his/her clothes? Bring them down – we will put them to good use!)

Baby wipes

Diapers – cloth (HUGE need for these!)

Diaper pins

Diapers – disposable

Baby Powder

Sanitary Napkins

Toilet Paper

Toothbrush

Toothpaste

Fabric to make bags or baby blankets

Note: Even if not listed above, we will happily accept all donations but we are NOT requesting baby bottles at this time because the hospitals encourage breast feeding and do not want us to provide bottles.

Do you like to sew? We are looking for people to sew the drawstring bags and baby blankets. We provide the material and pattern – you provide the talent!

Don’t like to shop or sew but want to help? We need people to cut material. Also, monetary donations are happily accepted!

Where to drop off donations:

Coronado: Sundays between 10:00-10:30 am during Fellowship time at Coronado Bible Church (located upstairs in Coronado Resort). Stay for Church starting at 10:30 am!
