12 year-old Maya Andrus and her mom, Kathy Kress, cut their locks for a great cause! They removed ten inches from their hair in order donate it to a Panamanian organization that makes wigs for children with cancer.  They have been growing their tresses all year.  Maya had enough a few months ago, but was waiting for her mom to reach the required ten inches. That day finally arrived so they went to the Dolce Vida Salon in Coronado and had the hair bundled and cut.

Fundación Amigo del Niño con Leucemía y Cancer, FANLYC, (http://www.fanlyc.org.pa) is an organization that provides a wide variety of services to Panamanian children living with cancer and their families.  One of services is making wigs from donated human hair for these children.

“Hair grows back!” said Maya.  “It is such an easy way to help other,” added her mom, “that we challenge all members of this community to do the same!”
