CASA FOOD BASKET DISTRIBUTION - 2011

alt One of the main activities that CASA does once a year is to distribute food baskets to families with handicapped children.

In November all the baked goods donated from members and friends were sold at the CASA Table along with the items and services donated by members, restaurants and local stores allowed us to finance 60 food baskets. The bags, supplied by Multibank, were filled to the brim and then distributed on December 16th in San Carlos. Mollie Black played Mrs. Santa and did a wonderful job of matching children to stuffed toys that made their way from Chicago.

We also had taken pictures of the children last year and made sure we had copies to give out. They were so excited to see themselves, one lady even pulled out the picture we had given her last year from her purse to show us how much he had changed!

Sra. Maribel Gonzalez, a well know personality in San Carlos has been organizing a party for these families in her home for 4 years now, they served food, ice cream, cake and also distributes gives to the kids. With her help we are able to bring the baskets to needy families make their Christmas a little easier.
